Block
Author: Rubin
Blocks are the primary constituent of what we commonly refer to as the Blockchain. Blocks are placed in a sequential manner ensuring each new block is added at the end, forming a chain. Each block works as a reference point for the preceding block in the form of a hash.
Blocks contain vital information regarding completed transactions over a certain period of time. Hashes are what make the Blockchain almost impenetrable or subjected to forgery. Since each block comes with a unique cryptographic puzzle, it is imperative to solve the same prior to adding a new block in the chain known as ‘mining’.
