Breaking

Breaking in general terms means the act of separating something into pieces from a whole. This, in turn, disrupts the entire course, sequence, or continuous state.

The same can also be applied in the crypto domain. In cryptocurrency, breaking occurs in hard forks, which results in the system breaking down and split into another Blockchain.
