In Layman Terms, code refers to the set of instructions given to a computer system in order to perform certain tasks. Codes are responsible for converting information from one form to another. Oftentimes, it involves interpreting the human language into computer one.

Taking a cryptographic approach, the term coding and decoding defines concealing information and deciphering it when required. This methodology is often used to convey sensitive information without the intervention of a third party.
