Edge Nodes

Edge nodes also referred to as gateway modes or edge communication nodes cater as end-user gateways while forming a connection with other nodes. This allows the users to perform a system’s general operation while avoiding any capacity losses for other nodes.

The edge nodes are responsible for creating interactions between the Hadoop cluster and external networks. They are predominantly used for cluster-admin tools and client applications while offering a uniform experience to everyone accessing the node.

Edge computing and edge nodes play a crucial role in the world of blockchains, especially mitigating some of the challenges that come with cryptocurrencies. The edge nodes can be used to transcode and transmit data and surplus bandwidth, without the need for any centralized server.
