Light Node
Author: Rubin
The light node refers to the downloaded wallets that are often connected to full nodes, in order to validate information stored on the blockchain. Nodes are further classified into three distinct categories. The miner node, light node and full node.
Predominantly nodes are devices that are connected to the blockchain, such as computers, services, online wallets and even smartphones. These nodes are interconnected, ensuring that they are updated with the latest information.
Light nodes are advantageous since they are smaller in size while retaining partial information regarding the blockchain history. For the most part, light nodes contain block headers that contain information on the previous transactions.
