Market Capitalization/Market Cap/MCAP
Author: Sidharth
Market capitalization, also commonly known as MCAP is the total capitalization of all circulating cryptocurrencies within the market. Market Cap is used as a metric to understand the popularity of a given cryptocurrency.
The market capitalization of a cryptocurrency is calculated by multiplying the price of a single coin with the total number of coins in circulation. Market caps are also subjected to volatility when the price of the cryptocurrency fluctuates.
Large-cap crypto that has a market capitalization of more than $10 billion are often considered safe investments. While they are still volatile, investors can mitigate their risks to a certain degree with such cryptocurrencies.
