The denial-of-service (DoS) attack prevents the user from accessing any computer or given network system. Over the years, the DoS attack has gained popularity among hackers. The DoS attacks are often accomplished by taking a distributed approach.

The distributed denial-of-service is one of the most commonly used DoS attacks. Here hackers inject the malware into the network and start bombarding with a large number of requests, completely rendering the network.

Even the rising popularity of blockchain technology led to the emergence of a blockchain denial-of-service (BDoS). The sole purpose of these attacks is to target blockchain using the proof-of-work (PoW) consensus, such as Bitcoin.
